Wanted: A French Web Writer to Cover Content Strategy Forum 2010
We are looking for a French web content professional to help us promote Content Strategy Forum 2010 (Paris, 15-16 April 2010), the first conference in Europe dedicated to the emerging field of Content Strategy. If you’re a proficient and renowned online journalist, blogger, writer, editor (or all of the above) and are interested in helping us promote this ground-breaking event to the French Web Professionals community, then we want to hear from you! In return, you’ll receive a free conference pass, privileged access to our speakers, and plenty of kudos for helping to establish Content Strategy as a recognized profession in France.
As the field of Content Strategy is still relatively unknown in France, this is your opportunity to get in ahead of your peers and win recognition for promoting these new concepts and techniques to a broad audience.
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking a native French speaker who is relatively established on the Web; for example, you work in Web journalism and have a significant social following of others in the Web communication business (writing, editorial, journalism, user experience, content management…). You should have an excellent grasp of English (all conference sessions will be in English) and be at ease switching and translating between English and French. You should be able to enlighten your audiences about Content Strategy, and bring Content Strategy Forum 2010 to their attention.
What You Will Get
- Free access to our pre-conference workshops on Thursday 15 April 2010 and our main-day presentations on Friday 16 April 2010, plus lunch and breaks on both days and our closing networking cocktail on Friday evening (a €459 value).
- Full conference attendee pack which includes a complementary ticket for our book raffle.
- Recognition in the conference brochure and a link from the conference website to your website or blog.
- You are welcome (and encouraged) to attend our river boat dinner and cruise on the evening of Thursday 15 April 2010 with conference speakers and organizers (a €70 value).
What We Expect in Return
- Regular Twitter promotion and commentary (in French) during the 3 months leading up to the event, including direct targeting of local Web professionals who would be most interested in attending (writers, editors, journalists, user experience designers, content managers…)
- At least 3 promotional pre-conference blog articles published on a high visibility site (the first to be posted by 15 January 2010). The conference team is available to brief you on Content Strategy, conference aims and organization, etc.)
- Active observation, note-taking, and live reporting during workshop and conference sessions. You may attend main-day presentations most suited to your interests. You may also rove between breakout sessions to get a greater sense of the various topics and overall scope of the event.
- Interacting with participants and outside observers via Twitter and other social media channels, prior to, during, and up to 1 month after the event, as appropriate.
- At least 1 post-event article addressing what took place, your impression of the event and communication impact, and any other considerations you may have, such as how Content Strategy may fit in with your own work.
What To Do First
If you are interested in this great opportunity, let us know by:
- replying in the comments of this article,
- contacting us directly using our contact form (select ‘Nature of inquiry” as “Conference”), or
- via Twitter (@stcfrance).
Attention: Regardless of how you contact us, you must have a Twitter account and let us know what it is, from which we should be able to tell your real identity (photo and name), social following strength, professional interests and website location.
If we think you are a good fit for our needs, we’ll get back to you to pursue the discussion further.
Our interview with Vanessa Deconinck, a French content strategist in Paris and speaker at the Forum, may help to provide some background about content strategy in France, and why we are looking for your help to get the message out.

Dear Wion,
I have read your messages from twitter.
My twitter account is @Turone.
I am interested in the great opportunity above.
I can read, understand and speak english language.
However I have not “an excellent grasp of English (all conference sessions will be in English) and be at ease switching and translating between English and French”.
I can do all my best for promoting content strategy around me, among my peers and behond.
I hope hearing from you soon. I would be glad participating in a such event.
Yours sincerely,
Raphëlle RIDARCH
