The Microsoft Business Solutions (MBS) Content Localization team at Microsoft Development Center - Copenhagen is looking for a highly motivated and passionate individual to work with all aspects of the localization cycle for one of our main product lines: Dynamics Nav
As the engineer dedicated to Navision, you will work with all localization related aspects of the product and its supporting processes. Together with another International Project Engineer you will be driving the upstream efforts with regards to world-readiness in the source and thus educating and cooperating with the development teams to ensure that globalization and localizability issues are being resolved early in the cycle to allow the cost and time efficient localization of the Dynamics Nav deliverables into 46 language versions.
To achieve this, you will have a broad interface and close collaboration with not only Product Development but also with Program and Project Management within the team and external to the team, Build, Product Support, and Test teams to help Microsoft release localized products of the highest quality. You will initiate training sessions and the creation and promotion of specific guidelines in the area of globalization and localizability for internal and external development teams as well as support our Localization Production team and our vendors in solving localization issues.
You will also collaborate closely with the translation vendor team in Beijing.
Qualified candidates should have strong proven engineering skills and it is an advantage if you also have experience with Dynamics Nav. You should have the ability to work and communicate effectively and remain motivated in an environment where directions change frequently and you need to adapt rapidly and be able to build a broad network with lasting, strong relationships.
Job Requirements:
- Hands-on experience in international project/localization engineering with knowledge of development and localization processes, globalization & internationalization challenges
- Knowledge of Microsoft standard localization tools Trados, LocStudio, Helium
- Programming skills in e.g. C#, VB
- Understanding of the development cycle
- Hands-on experience in identifying, designing, developing & implementing process improvements
- Action and result-orientation - drive for results, a strong accomplishment orientation and passionate about detail, taking initiatives and ensure they are completed
- Keeping the overview even though many parties are involved and many requirements need to be prioritized and fulfilled and ensure that expectations are met
- You must be able to work effectively in situations involving uncertainty or lack of information and respond flexibly to change
- Problem-solving ability - gathering and analyzing information and using it to develop effective solutions to difficult problems or situations
- Team player with interpersonal skills - working closely together with others, keeping them informed, knowledge sharing
- Good communication skills - write, speak and present information effectively and communicate persuasively. Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Previous localization test experience and knowledge of ERP products are considered an advantage
